All students must either provide a:
Physical Driving Licence
Digital Driving Licence
Temporary Paper Licence issued from the RMS

If you are under 25, you need to complete a minimum of 120 driving hours with a supervisor or driving instructor. At least 20 of those hours must be night driving (between sunset and sunrise). Completing the Safer Driver Course and 3 for 1 bonus hours with a driving instructor can help you achieve these hours faster.
There are 2 ways to record your hours, either with a paper log book given to you by Service NSW when you get your learners licence or with the digital log book app accepted by Service NSW, Roundtrip.
When you are 25 years old or older, you do not have to log or complete a minimum amount of hours. We do still however recommend that you do a lot of supervised driving to improve your driving and road knowledge before your test.
If you have previously held a NSW or interstate driver licence (other than a learner licence)
If you have previously held an overseas licence (other than a learner licence)
If you hold an overseas licence (other than a learner licence) and are issued with a learner licence after failing one driving test
The NSW Safer Drivers Course teaches learner drivers under 25 to develop safe driving skills and prepare for driving on their own. The course focuses on speed management, gap selection, hazard awareness and safe following distances. It involves a 3 hour group discussion and a 2 hour in car coaching session.
Before you book in for the course, you must have completed 50 log book hours (including some night driving) and excluding any bonus hours.
The course costs $140 and is booked and paid for directly with the course provider.
Unfortunately Keisha does not offer Manual lessons however if you have a manual car and are looking for a driving instructor we highly recommend Jan from Newport Driving School.

Yes! There is no limit to how many lessons you can have with a driving instructor. There is only a limit on the number of bonus hours you can log for those lessons.
The Hazard Perception Test (or HPT) is a computer-based test that you need to pass before you can take the driving test and get your provisional P1 licence. It measures how well you can recognise potentially dangerous situations on the road.
You can only book in for the HPT once you have held your learner licence for at least 10 months.
The test fee is $49 per attempt.
